The
Donetsk Ballet is an internationally acclaimed ballet company
from the Ukraine rivaling the Bolshoi and the Kirov. Leading
the world class company are two international stars of
ballet, Vadim Pisarev and his wife and dance partner, Inna
Dorofeyeva.
Mr.
Pisarev, the company artistic director and principal
dancer, is a five-time gold medal winner and was honored
Male Dancer of the Year 1990.
Ms. Dorofeyeva, a recipient of the Gold Medal in the
first Ukraine Ballet Competition, quickly rose to the
rank of Prima Ballerina. She has beencalled a "patrician
classic stylist" by The Washington Post and "a dream" by The
New York Times.
More
than 150 students from Miss Patti's join the Donetsk Ballet
in the annual production of "The Nutcracker," providing
exciting, fun, and challenging roles of children, soldiers,
Chinese, polichinelles, mice, dolls, flowers, marzipans and
snowflakes.
